El cantante puertorriqueño Marc Anthony vive su vida con pura pasión. Eso se refleja en todas las canciones alegres y emotivas que él interpreta.
A través de los años, Anthony nos ha inspirado con canciones variadas, desde “I Need to Know,” hasta “You Sang to Me;” desde “My Baby You” hasta “Rain Over Me” con Pitbull.
Recientemente, el artista boricua, quien ha ganado cinco GRAMMYs, estuvo al centro de una controversia, cuando lo criticaron por cantar la canción “God Bless America” durante el juego All Star de pelota (del MLB). Esto ocurrió sólo un mes después de que el joven Sebastien de la Cruz recibió mensajes racistas en Twitter por haber interpretado el himno de los Estados Unidos durante un juego de los NBA Finals. Anthony respondió a estos incidentes con afirmaciones que el es tan americano como lo es puertorriqueño, habiendo nacido y sido criado en Nueva York.
A los artistas Latinos hay que apoyarlos– en especial cuando son personas que se enorgullecen de su dualidad cultural. ¡Por eso me alegro tanto de que voy a asistir al concierto de Marc Anthony, como parte de su gira “Vivir Mi Vida,” en el Amway Center en Orlando, el domingo, 25 de agosto!

Recently, the Boricua artist and five-time GRAMMY winner was at the center of a controversy, when he was criticized for singing “God Bless America” during the MLB All Star game. This occurred only a month after youngster Sebastien de la Cruz received racist Tweets for singing the U.S. national anthem during an NBA Finals game. Anthony responded to these incidents with affirmations that he is as American as he is Puerto Rican, having been born and raised in New York.
We need to support Latino artists– especially when they are people who take pride in their cultural duality. That’s why I’m so happy to be attending the Marc Anthony concert, as part of his “Vivir Mi Vida” tour, at Amway Center in Orlando, on Sunday, August 25th!
