Sobre nosotros

A veces me frustra…y a veces, ¡me encanta!

About Us

Sometimes I get frustrated…and sometimes, I love it! And…I’m a coffee lover. I love boricua (Puerto Rican) coffee, the espresso with milk that I drink on every visit to the bakery in my hometown of Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Just the same, I can’t resist a latte or a cappuccino from all the famous, chain coffee shops in the U.S. I drink both in great quantities– but always with milk.

I add milk to coffee, to oatmeal, to American grits, and if I don’t add milk to it, I dunk it!

This blog won’t be only about coffee. I wish to learn more about what it means to be a Latina from a country that little by little is assimilating to American culture, but who also lives in a country where being Hispanic is no longer a rarity.

It’s taken me 24 years to reach the conclusion that I can have the best of both worlds, and this blog shall be my attempt at searching for the best that my two beloved cultures have to offer. I also plan to explore the negatives aspects of both cultures, because without suffering there is no appreciation for the good things.

When all is said and done, I don’t know if I’ll find out who I am. But this I can say with certainty: I AM BLESSED. Let’s brew a cup and drink to my ambivalence!
