Siempre se me ha hecho difícil encontrar un par decente de audífonos cómodos. Desde mis días preadolescentes de andar con un Walkman porque pensaba que de alguna manera me veía cool, encontrar audífonos que se acomodaran bien en mis oídos era una lucha.

Yo perdí parte de mi audición– hasta cincuenta porciento– en mi oído izquierdo cuando me enfermé cuando era niña. A decir la verdad, yo no extraño el tener audición perfecta, porque no conozco nada a lo contrario. Siempre he podido adaptarme de alguna manera– con sentarme en la parte de al frente del salón de clases para oír mejor las instrucciones, o con pedirle a una amiga que se siente a mi lado derecho en el cine por si tiene que murmurarme algo.

Hace unos años, empecé a hacer algo que considero un poco drástico– y rebelde. Me di cuenta de que a veces el audio más importante (el canto, si es música, o el diálogo, si es una película o programa de televisión) sale del audífono izquierdo. Así que hice la movida drástica de– intercambiar mis audífonos. Sí, es cierto. Empecé a usar el audífono derecho en mi oído izquierdo, y vice versa.

Esto debe de ser ILEGAL.

Pero, no me importa. Estaba adicta.

Hace varias semanas, me enviaron un par de audífonos RELAYS por SOL REPUBLIC. Se anuncian como que no se salen de tus oídos– mientras corres, caminas, cocinas, limpias, blogueas, salvas al mundo…etc.

Los audífonos llegaron en una caja con cuatro diferentes tamaños y clases de auriculares, y se me hizo fácil escoger los auriculares que me parecen más cómodos para mi.

Hice clic en un video en YouTube para escuchar y probar los audífonos.

Cielos santos.

En realidad tuve que quitarme los audífonos casi inmediatamente porque quería asegurarme de que el sonido venía de mi computadora, y no desde el cuarto.

Así de potentes son.

Mis audífonos RELAYS son lo único que necesito para sumergirme en un mundo que es completamente diferente al que yo habito. Simplemente me los pongo en mis oídos y me consiento con una experiencia auditoria como nunca he tenido en mi computadora. (¡También tengo que mencionar que hacen juego perfecto con mi Nokia Lumia 928! Ahora puedo disfrutar ver videos en una pantalla clara bastante grande mientras también tengo buen sonido.)

¿Y si quiero intercambiar los audífonos como estoy tan acostumbrada a hacer? No hay problema. Los auriculares que seleccioné caben perfectamente en ambos oídos. 😉

I’ve always had a hard time finding a decent, comfortable pair of headphones. Ever since my preteen days of carrying around a Walkman because somehow, I was deluded into thinking I looked cool, finding a good fit for my ears was a struggle.

I lost part of my hearing– up to fifty percent– in my left year when I became ill as a child. Truth be told, I don’t miss my perfect hearing, because I don’t know anything different. I’ve always been able to adapt to that somehow– by sitting at the front of the classroom to hear instructions better, or by asking a friend to sit on my right side at the movies in case she needs to whisper something to me.

A few years ago, I began doing something I considered a bit drastic– and rebellious. I noticed that sometimes the most important audio (the singing, if it’s music, or dialogue, of it’s a movie or TV show) would come from my left earphone. Hmmm. So, I took the dramatic step of– switching my headphones. Yep, that’s right. I began using the right earphone in my left ear, and vice versa.

This should be ILLEGAL.

But, I don’t care. I was hooked.

A few weeks ago, I was sent a RELAYS Headphones by SOL REPUBLIC. They are advertised as not falling out of your ears– whether you’re running, walking, cooking, cleaning, blogging, saving the world…etc.

The headphones arrived in a box with four different sizes and shapes of ear tips, making it simple for me to select the pair of tips that best fit my ears comfortably.

I clicked on a video on YouTube to listen and test out my new accessory.

Holy cow.

I actually removed my headphones almost immediately, because I wanted to make sure the sound was coming from my computer, and not from within the room.

That’s how powerful they are.

My RELAYS headphones are all I need to immerse myself in a world that is completely separate from the one I inhabit. I just plug them into my ears, and I am treated to an auditory experience like no other that I’ve had on my laptop. (I also need to point out that these headphones are a perfect match for my Nokia Lumia 928! Now I can enjoy watching videos on a wider, crystal-clear phone screen while also getting great sound.)
