El viernes, 28 de junio, comenzó como un día común y corriente– único que, para mí, no fue un día común ni corriente para nada.
Ese día me empecé a preparar desde temprano para mi experiencia VIP con Brisk– ¡y Juanes!
Me decidí en ponerme un traje sin mangas de encaje, bien bohemio, un poco “hippie chic.”
On Friday, June 28th, began a day that was common and ordinary– except that, for me, it wasn’t common or ordinary at all.
That day I started getting ready from early on for my VIP experience with Brisk– and Juanes!
I decided to wear a sleeveless lace dress, very bohemian, and a little “hippie chic.”
A las 3:30 de la tarde, nos recogieron a mí y a Mami en un carro negro para ir a Hard Rock Live. ¡Nos podríamos acostumbrar a este servicio!
At 3:30 p.m., Mami and I were picked up in a black town car to go to Hard Rock Live. We could get used to this service!
Cuando llegamos a Universal (donde queda Hard Rock Live), me encontré a mi tremenda amiga Adriana, de Adriana’s Best Recipes, y su amiga, Melitza.
When we arrived at Universal (where Hard Rock Live is located), I ran into my great friend Adriana, of Adriana’s Best Recipes, and her friend, Melitza.

¡Esperamos para entrar a una antesala, y pronto nos dejaron entrar al área donde Juanes y su banda estaban ensayando!
We waited in a lobby, and soon, they let us enter the area where Juanes and his band were rehearsing!

Juanes fue muy amable con nosotras, y fue una experiencia que jamás olvidare.
Luego, nos llevaron a una suite, el “John Lennon Room,” donde tienen mucha memorabilia del famoso Beatle, incluyendo muebles de un cuarto de hotel donde el una vez se quedó.
Era tan mágico estar en un lugar con tanta influencia y el espíritu de uno de los Beatles.
Mientras estuvimos allí, me encontré con otras amigas mías blogueras.
Juanes was very friendly with us, and it was an experience I’ll never forget.
Later, they took us to a suite, the “John Lennon Room,” which boasts lots of memorabilia from the famous Beatle, including furniture once housed in a hotel room he stayed in.
It was so magical to be in a place with so much influence and the spirit of one of the Beatles.
While we were there, I ran into some of my other blogger friends.
Bill fue nuestro barman esa noche. ¡El hace bebidas riquísimas, y es súper simpático!
Bill was our bartender that evening. He makes fantastic drinks, and he is super nice!

Adriana, me, Brenda and Mami.Nos trataron como celebridades, ofreciéndonos bebidas y entremeses ilimitados– todos infundidos con sabores de té helado Brisk.
Uno de mis favoritos fue el Brisk Brojito, que incorporaba Brisk Sweet Tea en adición a hojas de menta y rebanadas de limón verde.
We were treated like celebrities, as they offered us unlimited drinks and appetizers– each infused with the Brisk Iced Tea flavors.
One of my favorites was the Brisk Brojito, which incorporated Brisk Sweet Tea in addition to mint leaves and lime slices.
¡Finalmente, llegó la hora anticipada del concierto! Nada nos pudo haber preparado para lo movido y divertido que fue, y lo honesto que es Juanes como artista.
Finally, the anticipated hour arrived– the concert! Nothing could have prepared us for how upbeat and fun it was, and how honest Juanes is as a performer.
Durante el concierto, Juanes le rindió tributo a todos los países latinoamericanos– y a la gente de Orlando. También reconoció a su familia, que estaba en la audiencia. Es esta humildad y habilidad de identificarse con sus fans que hace que Juanes sea un cantante y músico tan querido.
Jamás olvidaré esa velada con Juanes. Fue una de las experiencias más memorables de mi vida.
Tal vez, algún día lejano quizás lo vuelva a encontrar…
During the concert, Juanes paid tribute to all the Latin American countries– and the people of Orlando. He also recognized his family, who was in the audience. It’s that humility and the ability to identify with his fans that makes Juanes such a loved singer and musician.
Perhaps, on some distant day, I’ll find him again…
