Como residente de casi toda la vida en Orlando, siempre me he enorgullecido de decir que soy súper fanática de los parques de Disney. ¡Tanto los parques como las películas de Disney siempre han formado parte de mi vida, y por eso me entusiasmé tanto de poder estrenar las nuevas atracciones y los eventos en EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, y Hollywood Studios el 8 de julio!
As a nearly-lifelong Orlando resident, I’ve always been proud to say I am a huge fan of the Disney theme parks. The parks, as well as the Disney films, have always been part of my life, and that’s why I was so excited to preview the new attractions and events at EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios on July 8th!
Empezamos el día temprano en EPCOT, en el pabellón de Noruega, donde se encuentra la nueva atracción de la película “Frozen,” “Frozen Ever After.” ¡Lo mejor de todo fue no tener que hacer fila! Pero si les toca ir en un día que haya mucha gente (¡que será todos los días, como es tan popular!), les recomiendo que intenten conseguir un FastPass, o traten de ir a una hora del día en que el sol no esté tan caliente por si se forma fila fuera del edificio.
We began our day early at EPCOT, in the Norway pavilion, where you’ll find the new “Frozen” attraction, “Frozen Ever After.” The best part of this experience was not having to wait in line! But if you go on a day when there’s a lot of people (every day, since it’s so popular!), I recommend getting a FastPass, or trying to go when the sun isn’t so hot, in case the line extends outside the building.
¡A los miembros de los medios nos trataron como VIPs! Nos recibieron con desayuno y café mientras esperábamos que abrieran la atracción.
We members of the media were treated like VIPs! We were welcomed with breakfast and coffee while we waited for the ride to open.
Inmediatamente al comenzar el paseo en barco, me di cuenta que la experiencia iba a ser muy diferente a “Maelstrom,” la atracción que cerraron para abrir “Frozen Ever After.” Las imágenes, las escenas, y los personas son coloridos y brillantes, mientras que Maelstrom era más oscuro. ¡La tecnología avanzada que usan ahora es fenomenal! Olaf camina a donde uno, y Elsa parece estar cantando con unos gestos bien fluidos.
Aunque se considera una atracción para niños, creo que los adultos disfrutaremos la aventura, y los cambios con la tecnología nueva lo hacen mucho más especial.
Immediately upon embarking on the journey aboard a ship, I realized the experience would be very different to “Maelstrom,” the ride that was closed in order to open “Frozen Ever After.” The images, the scenes, and the characters are colorful and bright, whereas Maelstrom was much darker. The advanced technology they are using now is phenomenal! Olaf walks toward you, and Elsa appears to be singing with very fluid motions.
Although it’s considered a kids’ ride, I think we adults will all enjoy the adventure, and the technological changes make it even more special.
Soarin’ siempre fue una de mis favoritas experiencias en Disney. Punto. Así que, ¿qué posiblemente podrían hacer para mejorar un favorito del público? ¡Pues, incorporar diferentes países del mundo, claro!
Yo soy bien fanática de explorar diferentes países y culturas, así que esta movida de Disney me parece brillante, particularmente al considerar que Soarin’ Around the World queda en EPCOT, que tiene el World Showcase.

Soarin’ was always one of my favorite experiences at Disney. Period. So, what could possibly improve a crowd favorite? Well, incorporating different countries around the world, of course!
I am big fan of exploring different countries and cultures, so this move by Disney seems brilliant, particularly considering that Soarin’ Around the World is located in EPCOT, that has the World Showcase.
Con vistas impresionantísimas de lugares como la muralla de China y el Sydney Opera House, vale la pena esperar para montarse.
With super-impressive views of landmarks such as the Great Wall of China and the Sydney Opera House, it’s worth the wait to ride.
¡Después, nos fuimos al Magic Kingdom!
Allí tuvimos un área privada (¡con botellas de agua fría!) para ver la parada Festival of Fantasy. (¡No te pierdas el dragón! Es espectacular.)
Next, we were off to the Magic Kingdom!
There, we had a private area (with ice-cold bottles of water!) to watch the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Don’t miss the dragon! It’s spectacular.

Luego, nos reservaron un área de VIP para ver el Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire. ¡Es una celebración muy linda de la amistad y una buena oportunidad de ver a Mickey y Minnie con algunos amigos especiales (¡como los personajes de Frozen)!
Later, we had a VIP area reseserved to view Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire. It is a beautiful celebration of friendship and a great opportunity to see Mickey and Minnie with some special friends (think: Frozen)!
Después del programa, tuvimos la oportunidad increíble de probar el nuevo restaurante en Adventureland, Skipper Canteen para cena. ¡Es delicioso!
After the show, we had the opportunity to try out the newest restaurant in Adventureland, Skipper Canteen, for dinner. It’s delicious!
Nos sirvieron unas bebidas (yo escogí el Punch Line Punch– una mezcla dulce y refrescante de jugos de frutas y puré de mangó), y ordenamos aperitivos (yo pedí el Falls Family Falafel– viene con un “dip” de habichuelas blancas y ensalada de tomate y pepinillo– ¡riquísimo!)
Para el plato principal, satisfice mi antojo marroquí con el Grilled Lamb Chops, chuletas de cordero sazonadas en especias Berber junto a un guisado de lentejas verdes. El balance de sabor es perfecto, y me transportó a nuesto viaje a Marrakech en el 2012.
For the main dish, I satisfied my craving for Moroccan food with the Grilled Lamb Chops, which are seasoned in Berber spices and served alongside a Green Lentil Stew. The balance of flavors is perfect, and I was transported to our visit to Marrakech in 2012.
Mami pidió el Dr. Falls’ Signature Grilled Steak, cocido a la perfección con yuca frita, salsa de aguacate, y salsa chimichurri.
Mami ordered the Dr. Falls’ Signature Grilled Steak, cooked to perfection with fried yucca, avocado salsa, and chimichurri sauce.
Y para concluir este almuerzo gourmet, ordené el Kungaloosh!, un postre de inspiración africana que es un bizcocho de chocolate con guineos caramelizados, junto a mantecado de caramelo y anacardos (cashews) con polvito de café encima. ¡Es mucho más rico de lo que me imaginaba! Los elementos se complementaban perfectamente. Claro, lo acompañé con un cappuccino riquísimo.
And to conclude this gourmet lunch, I ordered the Kungaloosh!, an African-inspired dessert consisting of chocolate cake with caramelized bananas, with caramel and cashew ice cream, topped off with a sprinkle of coffee dust. It’s much more delicious than I had imagined! The elements complemented each other perfectly. Of course, I accompanied it with a delicious cappuccino.
¡Nuestra aventura en Disney culminó en Hollywood Studios, donde disfrutamos el nuevo “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” en un área VIP con un buffet de postres! El espectáculo de fuegos artificiales, música, y proyección es fenomenal, y usaron el lugar perfecto como escenario– el réplica de Grauman’s Chinese Theatre en Hollywood. La combinación de música, láser, explosiones y fuego simultáneo a escenas icónicas de las películas Star Wars es increíble. No hay otra manera de describirlo.
Our adventure at Disney culminated at Hollywood Studios, where we enjoyed the new “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” en a VIP area with a dessert buffet! The spectacle of fireworks, music, and projection is phenomenal, and they used the perfect setting as the backdrop– the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre replica from Hollywood. The combination of music, lasers, explosions and fire simultaneous with iconic scenes from the Star Wars films is unbelievable. There’s simply no other way to describe it.
Aunque llevo casi toda la vida visitando a los parques de Disney, siempre encuentro algo especial y nuevo. Este día estuvo lleno de sorpresas y conocí a otros periodistas y blogueros que lo hizo hasta más especial.
Although I’ve visited the Disney parks throughout most of my life, I always find something special and new. This day was filled with surprises and I met other fellow journalists and bloggers which made it even more special.
